The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

2025 Ohio Artist Registry Juried Exhibition
Not unlike most creatives, I have honed a number of mediums. Working on mosaics with found or recycled items has been my favorite creative outlet for the last 20 years. I’ve also included some of my ceramic pieces in my mosaics combining two loves.
I particularly like to state and illustrate spiritual beliefs with Scrabble or Bananagram tiles in my mosaics. Bringing these statements to life is a great challenge (with recycled items) and, I believe, emphasizes the statement in a unique way.
Kevin Buckland, artist
Recognized for his elaborate and engaging paintings, Kevin works exclusively in watercolor and is noted for his mastery of the medium.
His inspiration can come from anywhere. He doesn’t limit himself to any particular subject, and is open to any possibilities that watercolor provides.

I had a natural talent with a camera and soon began to pursue photography as a hobby, then a part time career. Over the years I have tried everything from being a studio photographer to rodeo photographer.
Now my focus is equine photography, marketing, events and portraiture. I can often be found in arenas photographing competitors and their horses to flower fields capturing marketing images for those just starting their business journeys.
Denise Burge

Denise Burge is a multidisciplinary artist, working primarily in fibers, painting and video. She works simultaneously on personal and collaborative projects, most of which address our complex cultural relationship with the natural world.
In addition to carrying out competitive funded residencies, she has exhibited her artwork and presented her video work at regional, national and international venues.
Matthew Burgy
Kinetic Sculptor, Painter, Printmaker
Matthew Burgy is a kinetic sculptor living in Waynesville, Ohio. He is currently working full time as a Museum Educator for the Dayton Art Institute and was previously an adjunct professor for the University of Dayton. He started his career as a professional artist in 2005, and also works in other mediums including painting, drawing, and jewelry. His sculptural work is a carefully balanced blend of physics, intuition, and experimentation.
Maria Burke pulls from a decade and a half of experience working in the museum exhibits field. She received her BFA in Biomedical Art from the Cleveland Institute of Art — studying zoology, biology, and techniques in scientific illustration. Her work draws from her experience in visual design, illustration, and museum taxidermy. She is driven by her deep love and passion for native wildlife and natural history.
Molly Jo Burke, b. 1984, is a Columbus, Ohio based artist, educator, and researcher. Burke received a BFA (2006) from Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD), and her MFA (2009), from The Ohio State University (OSU). In 2019 she accepted the Barnett Fellowship from OSU’s Arts Administration Education and Policy Program to pursue her PhD. She has taught at OSU, CCAD, and Corning Museum of Glass. Her work has been featured most recently at Toledo Museum of Art, Columbus Museum of Art, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris, France.
John Burroughs

Burroughs is the U.S. National Beat Poet Laureate for 2022-2023 and previously served two years as the Beat Poet Laureate for Ohio. His recent books include Rattle & Numb: Selected and New Poems, 1992 – 2019 [2019, Venetian Spider Press] and Loss and Foundering [2018, NightBallet Press]. Burroughs moderates the Cleveland Poetics blog and literary calendar at clevelandpoetry.com and has curated several reading series across the north coast of Ohio. Since 2008, he has served as the founding editor of Crisis Chronicles Press, publishing over 100 titles by authors from around the world.
Studied at the School of the Dayton Art Institute, BFA UD, Master of Humanities WSU; have been active as an artist and arts coordinator and educator since 1967.
Jordan Buschur is an artist, educator, and curator, with an M.F.A. in Painting from Brooklyn College, the City University of New York. Her paintings focus on collections of objects ranging from stacked books to interiors of drawers and packed boxes, all united by a system of value based on mystery, sentimentality, and the matriarchal connection. Buschur lives and works in the metro Toledo area.
I had a career in public relations and organization management, both of which provided me with opportunities to photograph people and groups. I have a master’s degree in journalism from Ohio State University where I took photography courses. I was editor of the Miami University yearbook in 1967-68 and reviewed many photographs for publication. I edited the Songs of Worthington book, a composite of a photography exhibit in 1992 designed to celebrate cultural diversity in the Worthington community and reinforce the belief that diversity enriches life.…

(b. 1947- Cleveland, Oh) Painter David Buttram pursues the ever-changing character of the inner-city through his paintings. Inspired by the styles of Van Gogh, Rembrandt, a few of the Impressionist, and the works of the Ashcan school. Buttram seeks to create images of natural and man made objects, through various combinations of light, shadow, reflections and color; which reveal a range of human emotions and moods. Buttram expects the viewer to explore the evidence of toil and strife, beauty and peace.
Buttram is a graduate of Cooper School of Art, The Cleveland Institute of Art, and Kent State University. Earning a BFA from CIA; and a Master of Art in Fine Arts at KSU.
