The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.
For more information, contact Kathy Signorino, artist programs director, at kathy.signorino@oac.ohio.gov or 614-728-6140.

Photo of 2168622722 Charles Jeffrey Mintz

Photography is Chuck’s third career the result of a passion acquired in Maine many years ago. Most of his work is done on large format film. Becoming full time in 2008 changed the work in profound ways. Previously, the people were anonymous and aimed at showing the public space. In this new time, the work has become intensely personal – often involving portraiture. Each project comes out of a story – someone’s Precious Objects, the steel houses in Lustron Stories, Andrew Carnegie and his Carnegie Libraries. Though the story is the framework, the meaning comes from what the subjects show us. For example, the people in their homes in Lustron Stories tell us about themselves, how they feel about their home, who they are. People in small towns and large, all living in pretty much the same house, bound to each other by their homes uniqueness and by contemporary culture. Stronger and more universal ideas bind them to us.
