The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bob Peck began his art career at an early age admiring the graffiti art that he saw scattered around the city. Years of being a bystander in the subculture went by and he continued to draw what he saw in his environment and followed the graffiti “trails” to places with densely marred walls full of this urban art.…
Rooted in formalism, my paintings are an exploration of color and composition. I tend to start with a minimal palette and allow it to expand as the painting progresses. I do not use studies or sketches for my paintings but rather allow them to develop based on images that exist only in my mind.

Maria Perme
Visual Storyteller, Artist
My creative focus and passion is visual story telling: capturing and creating photos that represent the inextricable connection to all and to highlight the innate essence of God/Divine Spirit in all beings. My style is casual yet professional in nature, welcoming and real. Nature is my biggest teacher, and I am continually surprised, amazed, and enthralled by the Earth’s resiliency and beauty and what she teaches. …
As a kid, I was frequently in trouble at school because I preferred drawing on the back of my work papers rather than doing the task at hand. My degrees include a B.S. in Design from the University of Cincinnati and a B.S. in Art Education from the University of Akron. While teaching in the Canton City Schools, I earned National Board Certification in art. I have been employed as a commercial artist, an elementary art teacher and a university professor teaching studio classes and art history. I currently live on a farm with my husband and cats, where I paint in a converted barn/studio. Trained as an illustrator, I prefer watercolors, pastels and mixed media.
Grace Peterson is an interdisciplinary artist inspired by her recent experience fostering arts-based learning at Kenyon College. She utilizes self-taught fiber arts techniques and frequently incorporates plastic waste and imagery from local ecosystems into her work, exploring human-nature relationships.
After graduating from Kenyon in 2022 with a B.A. in Sociology, she completed a two-year fellowship at The Gund, Kenyon’s teaching museum, developing arts-based curricular experiences alongside College faculty.
I am an artist trained in both digital and traditional media. My primary focus is fantasy illustration, but I also love painting traditional landscapes, objects, and animal studies. I am an official student of the Urasenke School of Tea, which informs and influences my compositions.

Art Impressions
I grew up in Long Island, NY, near the ocean. To this day, I’m still inspired by nature and landscapes, water and rain.
As a self-taught artist, I let my creativity flow, trying not to have any preconceived ideas about the end result. This allows my results to be raw and unfiltered. I hope that others experience that escape and feel as if they can take their minds to the settings within each piece.

Marsha has been making art for more than 40 years. She believes in the power of visual art: in her case, creating colorful, textural collages addressing issues like immigration, climate change, the power of light, and the necessity of visual beauty.
She holds a BFA from Ohio Northern University and a Master of Humanities from Wright State University. Through Central State University, she completed independent coursework with local artist and educator Bing Davis, now a close friend and mentor.
It wasn’t until I was in my mid fifties and was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia, and when I say rare I mean “we don’t know what this is and there is no cure, here take these pills” rare, that I found the freedom to quit my day job and focus completely on my art.

After years of pursuing a variety of art, I’ve landed home, photographing views from my backyard: Lake Erie scenes. I combine images, rearrange them, turn them upside down, flip-flop them, stack them and have them printed on large metal panels up tp 4’x5′. From afar, they’re abstract patterns of light and color, totems, Rorschach tests. From close up, you can discover faces, robots, body parts, insects…all up to your imagination!
