The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Born and raised in Cleveland and suburbs, attended Euclid and Mentor schools, managed to graduate. On the 10-year plan at Ohio University with degrees in English and journalism eceive in 1989. Worked in Athens and Columbus, Ohio and St. Joseph, Mich. as writer/editor/photographer, also dropped papers off at library.

Unlike glassblowing, lampworking involves using a torch to form beads on a steel mandrel or small sculptural objects using a glass rod. Much of my glass becomes jewelry, as well as small functional or decorative objects.

Evelyn McBride (she/they) is a graphic designer and muralist living and creating in Columbus, Ohio. Having graduated from the Columbus College of Art & Design in 2021 with a BFA in Advertising & Graphic Design, she immediately found a passion for getting involved in the arts & design community in Central Ohio. She currently works full-time as a graphic designer in higher education and volunteers with local arts organizations such as the Columbus Society of Communicating Arts (CSCA) and 934 Gallery. Along with design, she paints large-scale murals and contributes to public art opportunities around the Central Ohio area.

Noted for “her clear, focused sound,” mezzo-soprano Kira McGirr performs regularly in the Cleveland area, including as frequent soloist and member of Cleveland Chamber Choir; alto soloist and section leader with Trinity Chamber Singers and Cathedral Choir at Trinity Cathedral, Cleveland; as part of Trinity Cathedral’s BrownBag Concert Series; in the opera chorus and for outreach events with Cleveland Opera Theater; as part of the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Creative Fusion: Composers Series; and has been featured as alto soloist in Mozart’s Requiem, Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb, Brahms’ Liebeslieder Waltzes, and Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms.

A graduate of the Columbus College of Art & Design with 12+ years of experience, Jon has had had the pleasure of creating work for many different clients in many different industries, with a common thread of commercial art, often with a fun or whimsical nature or at times dark and eerie.
James began in metalsmithing, with an aesthetic reminiscent of Arte Povera. Now, tactility and immediacy combine with feelings of urgency to create works of haunting intensity. There is a critical link between his rough materials and complicated feelings about aging. His studio is in SW Ohio.
Elise McKeown Skolnick received her first camera at age 10, as a Christmas gift. From the moment she held it in her hands she was intrigued. Even opening more presents lost its appeal. Julia McLemore is an artist and educator, living and working in Columbus, OH. Her work is in a number of collections, including the Yale University’s Peter Palmquist Collection, the Columbus Museum of Art (Ohio), Scott’s Miracle Gro, Metro Health Systems (Ohio) and the Springfield Museum of Art (Ohio).
She holds a B.A. from Miami University, Ohio in English Literature. She also holds a B.F.A. degree from the Columbus College of Art & Design and an M.F.A. degree from The Ohio State University.
