The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Elaine Arvan Andrews lives and makes art in Youngstown, Ohio. She is an artist, educator, and writer who has been making postcard-sized collages since 2013, when she became fascinated by mail art. She earned her Ph.D. in Nineteenth-Century British Literature at Ohio University and is now works as the Assistant Director of Academic Affairs and Associate Teaching Professor in English at Penn State University, Shenango Campus, just across the Ohio border in Sharon, Pennsylvania.…

Philip Arnold is an artist who creates across several mediums, exploring creative possibilities at the junction of image and text. His writing appears in Arts & Letters, Southern Humanities Review, The Iowa Review, and Rattle. He is a recipient of an Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award, and has work selected as notable in Best American Essays. His award-winning photography appears in numerous publications and exhibitions. His documentaries have screened at DocUtah International Film Festival, Athens International Film Festival, The Film Festival of Colorado, and Twin Rivers Media Festival.

Hammond, represented by Rehs Contemporary Galleries in Midtown Manhattan, grew up in the historic Hudson Valley of New York. His earliest influences included Jim Davis and Charles Schultz, as well as characters created by DC and Marvel Comics. His interest in art was further fueled by the strong museum and arts background of his parents.
I am a painter from Northwest Ohio. My training and formal education is in the Sciences. But my passion has always been in the Arts. Music and Literature were omnipresent in my childhood. Albums and poetry, stories and (black and white) cinema made me who I am.

After years of practicing architecture, I became more interested in artistic aspects of architecture. At some point I started adding the actual materials over my architectural renderings to create three-dimensional images. I started exploring different materials to create 3D artwork and gradually added found objects such as used auto parts. It always fascinates me to see each object in a different way and bring the hidden beauty into life and make it visually attractive.

You could find her portrait ( painted by local artist, Aaron Thomas ) on a mural called “Every Piece Is Important” at Donatos located inside the John Glen Columbus Airport. Alysha Auerbach received her Bachelor of Fine Art’s degree with a concentration in ceramics and sculpture from the University of Central Florida. Ruth Awad

Ruth Awad is a 2021 NEA Poetry fellow and the Lebanese-American author of Set to Music a Wildfire, winner of the 2016 Michael Waters Poetry Prize and the 2018 Ohioana Book Award for Poetry. Alongside Rachel Mennies, she is the co-editor of The Familiar Wild: On Dogs and Poetry.
Nancy Azara is a sculptor who works in wood and whose scroll rubbings and tracings are collaged on mylar and paper.
Her work has been shown extensively, most recently in a solo show “Crow and Sandal Series and Other Works” at Kaaterskill Gallery, Hunter Village, NY (Aug 24–Oct 6, 2019), “Labyrinths of the Mind” at the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild in Woodstock, NY (May 17-Jun 30, 2019), “Nancy Azara: Nature Prints” at Saint John’s University, Queens, NY, and “Crossing Boundaries: Material as Message” at (RoCA), West Nyack, NY.
