The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.
For more information, contact Kathy Signorino, artist programs director, at kathy.signorino@oac.ohio.gov or 614-728-6140.

Artist Statement

When I’m finished with a canvas, I will feel success if the picture not only has pleasing elements such as forms and colors and even rhythm, which all somehow come together, but also makes me want to stare at it and soak it in, and then come back again and stare some more. I hope it can do the same thing for the viewer. I want you to feel like you are in the land of what-if and maybe over time you find a little part of it not noticed before but now adding more appreciation for it. It must definitely present something that can’t be found in a photograph. Maybe it will have a taste of the bizarre. You might not know how to explain it, but something will make you think it’s a different world you are looking at. It may or may not relate to the world you live in. It can be a new world all unto itself, operating with its own set of rules. And you too will want to come back for more.
