The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Photo of Gerrie McManamon

As a child, I was always making things – sewing dolls, coloring, drawing, etc.  I knew wanted to be an artist when I grew up. I ended up becoming a German/ Russian teacher and taught in Toledo and Columbus Schools for a combined 27 years. As I neared my retirement, I found myself with more time to create. I began taking classes in life drawing, printmaking, ceramics, and mixed media, online and at the Cultural Arts Center of Columbus. At this point, painting is my focus, but I still enjoy drawing, printmaking and mixed media work. I feel fulfilled as an artist when the viewer has an emotional connection with my work.
