The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Artist Statement

Kathryn’s Ghost In The Neighborhood is a piece from her body of work called My Haunted Soul. Kathryn has a BFA with a concentration in ceramics from Mount Saint Joseph University (2000).

Kathryn finds art to be healing and helps us to naturally realign ourselves to our soul’s purpose. Listening to our soul speak to us with ancient wisdom from many lifetimes experiences. Her studio and art page website on Facebook is called Masks Of The Soul. She views masks as a representations of aspects of ourselves that we either use to conceal or reveal about ourselves through our facial expressions. According to the “Anam Hara” (Soul friend), our face houses our soul. Our ancestral lineage can be revealed and concealed through our eyes and our face, which is the one mask we can never remove. Having started at the beginning with masks for her senior thesis in 2000, and now, 23 years later, her soul asked her to return to complete the circle and come back to her beginning with masks and clay.

This year, Kathryn joined the Kennedy Artist Collective, and has been volunteering to help Kennedy Heights Arts Center with their opening receptions for their art shows and assisting with their children’s art classes. This fall, she participated in the October Art Walk at Essex Studio, and will again in December 2023. Her work is currently in two different group exhibitions at Kennedy Heights Arts Center.
