The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. For more information, contact Kathy Signorino, artist programs director, at kathy.signorino@oac.ohio.gov or 614-728-6140.
MARK CALLOWAY
Fine art painter and printer
My father drew a very detail portrait of me when I was about 4 years old, I wanted to do the same.
My mother and I would color coloring books and work puzzles, soon I was adding shadows and mixing colors. When she would get a new pair of stockings there would be a white panel of paper that I would use for drawing. I was quick to notice when she had a run in her stockings so I could get another sheet to draw on.
My God given gifts were sparked!
I graduated from Ashland University in 2007 with a BS in Fine Arts. My focus was on printmaking and sculpture. I have focused on painting for the past five years. I enjoy the process of mark-making and gather from my experience working with an outsider, non-traditional artist. I researched Pop Art, Impressionism, Dada, iconography, Egyptian, and Aztec Art
