Inky’s World

Oh The Things You Have Seen, The Places You Have Been

Oh The Things You Have Seen
The things we can’t unsee
It may have been traumatic things
Buildings falling down
Danger, danger all around
People captured
Religious enraptured
With those of us sight unseen
Drama, drama, hide if you can
The government is on the rise again
But through it all
You persevere
You live a life
Turn away the strife
Try to remember
The lovely things
Oh hell
Don’t dwell
Move forward
Without fear
Be glad you had these years

Is Anyone Listening

Is Anyone Listening

A play on the idiom “falling on deaf ears.” From personal experience in a relationship you wonder can’t they hear or are they not letting the words penetrate their brain membrane. It’s all a game anyway isn’t it.

The Peril of the Imbalance of Power

Inspired from a trip to Italy where I took photos of statues holding up a porticos. The monumental statues in Rome that receive admiration are a testament to the imbalance of power then and now across all political climates.

Power Over Pain

Inspired by a trip to Italy where I took photos of monumental statues holding up major edifices. This statue as it was then and now brought to mind the anger, agony, despair, all encompassing pain that tries to defeat us. We are strong, we have the power, we are relentless.

The Culinary Power of Dishing it Out

Inspired from a trip to Italy where I took photos of statues holding up a porticos representing strength. A tribute to the Domestic Goddess of Kitchen Delights pursuit of new dishes, sharing, caring and love. A symbolization of Italy’s reputation of nourishing others then and now.

Point of View

Peer through a window and take in the view from Sorrento. It reveals a vast fertile valley of pine, lemon, orange trees and rows of grapes. Look even further across to Mt. Vesuvius standing high above the bay shows us there can be healing from a destructive past.
