Artist Statement
I was born and raised in Cleveland Ohio . I received my B.A in Anthropology with an emphasis in biological anthropology from Cleveland State University. The Study of non- human primates. Life events prevented me from working in my field of choice as a zookeeper so instead I started photographing Wildlife and Nature. I have over two decades of capturing moments through my camera lens. I have experience in exhibiting my photographs in juried shows through the Cleveland area and within the state of Ohio. Photography is a means of expression it evokes emotion for me. I find that photography is also very therapeutic and is a healing source of power in my life. My creative process in doing photography usually happens when an image stands out or attracts attention. I usually study all my images and shots I capture and I will edit or photoshop what is needed to see how post processing changes the overall look of my image .I love to add emotion or color to my photography. Conveying emotion is a way to create powerful images that connect you as the photographer to the viewer. So having depth and emotion in my work is an important factor in photographing for me .
I use both my Nikon 3200 and D5200 to photograph. I use telephoto lens , 15-55mm lens, 55-200mm lens, Marco lens, 40 Micro lens. I always evoke emotions in my photographs. I try to get the world a different perspective with my work . I try to make use of color because color has a lot symbolism and emotion to it . I prefer to capture unplanned shots and preferably paying to attention to the Eyes of the subjects . The eyes are suppose to be the window to the Soul.
