The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Artist Statement

My artwork revolves around human form and self expression. I believe that art should have the capacity to be whatever it wants even in the museum space. My artistic identity shouldn’t be limited to one idea, theme, or medium. There is not a single person in the world who is one thing, we are a compilation of hopes, fears, joys, and trauma. You’ll see that my submitted pieces range from funny, relaxed, political, and more. I work in all mediums, but my personal favorite is sculpting and my favorite subject is the human form. Sculpting is my favorite because I get to engage all of my senses. I love anatomy and figure drawing, it was my favorite subject and I’m obsessed with pushing the exaggeration of the human form. When I sculpt I like to tell myself, I’m not sculpting people, I’m sculpting cartoons. As you can see by my sculpture, “Shelia” I love to manipulate proportions in a way that still shows my extensive anatomical knowledge. My deepest inspirations come from animation, comic books/manga, music, body horror, fetish content, antiquity, and caricature drawings.
