The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio

Jason Clary is a representational artist and educator deeply committed to observational processes as a means of discovery. He specializes in the figure and portrait but is also engaged with cityscape and still life. Working in oils, pastel, and graphite, Clary is interested in a physical and psychological naturalism which only reveals itself within the visual dialogue between subject and artist over time.

Jason Clary taught painting, drawing, and foundation studies for 15 years at the Columbus College of Art and Design and has taught at Miami University, the University of Cincinnati, Indiana University, and the Art Academy of Cincinnati. He received his MFA from Indiana University in 1999, his BFA from the University of Cincinnati in 1996, and studied at the Glasgow School of Art in 1992. In 2011 he served as an artist in residence in the Vytlacil AIR Program of the Art Students League of New York. His work has been exhibited in the U.S. and abroad, including shows in New York, Alaska, and at the Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy.
