The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio
Jamie Carlin is a multidisciplinary artist and former educator based in Lakewood, Ohio. He holds a Master’s in Art Education from the University of Toledo and a BFA from the Columbus College of Art & Design.
Jamie brings a versatile and a well rounded set of fine arts skills to his creative practice, including digital photography, printmaking, drawing, collage work and mixed media. He has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Ohio and Washington state.
He has taught at both Tiffin University and the University of Toledo, sharing his passion for the arts in higher education settings. Jamie currently works as a Commercial Lines Underwriter for Progressive Insurance while continuing to actively pursue his artistic endeavors.
Artist Statement
My artistic exploration delves into the realms of nostalgia and abstraction, utilizing mixed media, collage, vibrant color, intricate patterns, and evocative imagery. Through this fusion, I aim to craft narratives that transcend the surface, inviting viewers to delve into layers of meaning and emotion, where memories intertwine with abstract forms, creating a dynamic interplay that resonates with the essence of the human experience.
