The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Artist Statement
As a maximalist artist, I rely on intricate, laborious details to tell my story. These details are crucial, as my large-scale paintings and sculptures are composed of thousands of lines, each a small imprint of my consciousness.
I have always found the human form fascinating for conveying emotions. However, my work extends beyond portraiture; it is rather a testament to the lived experiences and shared memories that define our connections with one another. Shaped by my upbringing in Uzbekistan, a part of the former Soviet Union, my artistic exploration has become deeply personal. This has led me to explore themes of control, power dynamics, and the roots of authority, particularly the role of fear. While personal experience inspires my work, it also challenges contemporary societal values and current events.
In my work, I often manipulate space, scale, and proportions to create a dynamic relationship between the subject and the viewer. By intentionally altering these elements, I emphasize the profound importance of the subject, inviting the viewer to engage intimately with their emotions and experiences. In addition to my figurative paintings and drawings, my practice includes sculptural work, using materials like clay, paper, and fiber to explore form and texture. I also work with soil, a material of great significance to me as an immigrant with a unique perspective on its precious value and connection to the land.
