Born in St Louis Missouri in 1962, Cecilia Brendel’s initial art education was in Technical illustration and Graphic Arts.  Illustrating for companies such as University of Notre Dame, Florida Institute of Technology, Harley Davidson, Holiday Rambler. Her early illustrating career lead her into working for Publishers such as MacGraw-Hill Publishing, GMA Publishing and American Book Publishers, designing book covers, illustrating children’s books and illustrating technical articles and other publications.  Advertising designs for an independent film presented to Cannes. The technical field soon evolved into the fine art end after local theaters asked her to paint scenery sets.  Developing her skills as a fine artist, Cecilia studied with a few master artist such as Alexei Antonov, Cesar Santos, and Douglas Flynt. This strengthened her skills in the old classical flemish method of painting .  When she studied under the new master of Douglas Flynt it took her paintings into a new twist of the juxtapose of the old classical flemish style meets new representational.   Cecilia produced pieces for several private and industrial clients worldwide.  Including on her client list was a high end Hotel, Grande Hotel Sablon in Brugge Belgium, St Joseph Hospital in South Bend Indiana, St. Boniface Church, Piqua, Ohio, Church of the Immaculate Conception Dayton, Ohio, and Wright State Univeristy, Ohio. Recently Cecilia has been featured in several magazines such as American Artist Magazine, Western Art Collectors Magazine and the Swedish Magazine, The     Moore. Her work consistantly goes up in value and recently in a couple articles as “One To Collect”.  Combining Cecilia Brendel’s illustrative and realism quality has  given her a uniqueness in her paintings.  She specializes painting portrait, Reproductions of any old master art, landscapes, religious art and miniature 1 inch oil paintings of wearable art!
