The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Artist Statement

My writing explores the quiet forces that shape human lives: memory, endurance, grief, and the small acts of compassion that hold communities together. I am drawn to stories that examine the emotional spaces between people—the moments where myth, memory, and personal history intersect.

Much of my work is rooted in mythology and folklore, particularly the stories that exist in the margins of traditional narratives. Through poetry and fiction, I am interested in reimagining these stories from new perspectives, often centering characters whose strength comes not from conquest but from empathy, resilience, and care. My current novel project, Victory is Her Name, reinterprets Norse mythology through the perspective of Sigyn, exploring themes of quiet power, loyalty, and emotional endurance.

As a poet, my work often reflects on place, travel, and personal transformation. My collection The 841 Nostalgia uses the metaphor of train travel to explore memory, movement, and the landscapes that shape identity. Across my projects, I aim to create writing that invites reflection and connection—stories that encourage readers to pause, listen, and recognize themselves in the lives of others.

I believe storytelling is both an act of preservation and an act of imagination. Through my work, I seek to honor the past while creating space for new interpretations that speak to contemporary readers.
