The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio

I am a passionate and multi-published photographer based in Dayton, Ohio, with over six years of professional experience capturing life’s most cherished moments. As the owner and sole photographer behind Taylor West Photography LLC, I am dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable photography for families, couples, and individuals. I am fully licensed and insured, ensuring my clients receive professional and reliable service.

My journey into photography stems from a deep personal connection—growing up with very few photos from my own childhood, I developed a profound appreciation for preserving memories. This passion has driven me to create timeless images that my clients can treasure for generations. My work has been recognized in various publications, and I have had the privilege of collaborating with organizations such as Partners in Hope (Troy), the Piqua Arts Council (Piqua), and Girls on the Run (Dayton), further solidifying my impact within the community.

In addition to on-location shoots, I now operate out of my own photography studio, providing a dedicated space for professional portraits, creative sessions, and styled shoots. With this new studio, I have more freedom to experiment with lighting, set design, and artistic concepts, further pushing the boundaries of my work. This year, I am focusing on expanding the more creative and conceptual side of my photography, bringing unique and imaginative visions to life. Committed to continuous growth, I am also investing in furthering my knowledge and skills—whether through workshops, hands-on experience, or exploring new techniques—ensuring I continue to evolve as an artist and provide the best possible experience for my clients.

Artist Statement

Photography, for me, is more than just capturing an image. It’s about preserving emotion, telling a story, and creating something timeless. My passion for photography stems from a personal place. Growing up with few photos of my own childhood, I understand the deep value of having moments to look back on. This drives me to ensure that everyone, regardless of background, has access to beautiful, meaningful images that document their lives.

My work balances authenticity with artistry. Whether I’m capturing a wedding, a family’s laughter, or an intricate conceptual piece, my goal is always to create something that resonates. I strive to blend natural, candid moments with a creative touch, ensuring each image feels personal yet visually compelling. With my studio space, I’ve been able to explore more styled and conceptual photography, pushing the boundaries of what I can create.

This year, my focus is on growth—both artistically and professionally. I’m constantly learning, experimenting, and refining my craft to better serve my clients and expand my creative reach. Photography is ever-evolving, and I embrace that evolution, always seeking new ways to express emotion, light, and storytelling through my lens. My mission is simple: to create images that make people feel something—to capture not just faces, but the fleeting, beautiful essence of a moment.
