The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio
I paint on site and in the studio, I use sketches from life and Memory, and I employ both reference photographs and imaginary elements. I am not a Landscape nor a travel painter, or one who is enamored with the picturesque. I have always had an interest in buildings, structures and ruins, but my interest is not limited to the buildings per se as much as the physical and psychological context in which they exist. The context can be the relationship to the landscape in which they are located, dramatic atmospheric conditions of light and sky, symbolic elements such as stairs and bridges, juxtaposition of elements such as sculpture, stylistic references to other artists and the suggestion of ideas. Cityscapes are therefore as interesting to me as Landscapes. It is most important to me to depict feelings of calm or desolation, a sense of the sacred and profane, a feeling of optimism or pessimism, and a sense of order or imbalance.
