The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio

I worked in the graphic arts field in Columbus, Ohio for 30 years. A pre-retirement project followed in 2012 when my daughter and I started a gourmet food truck business in Columbus that we named The Blu Olive. This was a fun 4 years of meeting lots of new people, long hours and a lot of great food. Retirement followed in 2016 and within a year I discovered oil painting. Originally impacted by the paintings of Edward Hopper, my influences grew over time. I am inspired by the interplay between light and shadow, as well as geometric shapes. Some current influences include painters Sarah Sedwick, Jane French, Timothy Horn, Ron Donahue and Monica Popham. I’ve studied in person with artists Joe Lombardo and Sarah Sedwick. I paint a variety of subjects but I am most drawn to urban landscapes or cityscapes. Although somewhat representative, I often bend reality to meet my own vision. Most important to me is the overall feeling of the painting. I’ve been told that I have a ‘graphic style’, thus the name of my studio, GraphicStyle Studio. I believe my graphic arts background is evident in my painting style, thereby helping to define my artistic fingerprint.
