The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Shannon Vaught

Shannon Vaught is a representational realist painter, born in 1996 just outside of Detroit, Michigan. She earned her BFA in Drawing + Painting at the Laguna College of Art + Design in 2019.
Shannon currently lives in Columbus, Ohio where she teaches private lessons at her studio downtown as well as group painting lessons at the Cultural Art Center. Her work has been exhibited locally, nationally, and internationally.

Artist Statement

Shannon Vaught’s recent work examines the human condition through the lens of narrative portrait painting. Combining her love for academic tradition and impressionistic use of color and light – the figures in her paintings are often a manifestation of the intangible; exploring a fleeting feeling, experience, or a moment in time.
