The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. For more information, contact Kathy Signorino, artist programs director, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 614-728-6140.
Chris Pemberton is a Columbus, Ohio abstract painter. Skewed frames of reference and layers are used to create an atmospheric, compelling image designed to elicit an emotional response in the viewer. A product of The Ohio State Fine Arts program, his work has been exhibited at numerous venues including The Riffe Gallery, Carnegie Gallery, Shot Tower Gallery and The Ohio State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition. Chris also donates his talent and work to events that benefit the Columbus art community such as Scrawl and the CMA “Art for Life” and “An Evening With Art” auctions.

Oil, acrylic, stain, charcoal and pencil are but a few of the mediums found in my paintings. Any materials that contribute to my goal of a visually striking image are considered.
My influences are as varied as the materials used in my work. Willem de Kooning, Cy Twombly, Larry Poons, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Albert Kotin, Helen Frankenthaler and John Hoyland are some of the artists whose work I consider important in the development of my own..
