The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio
My career as a visual artist spans 6 decades. My work is intuitive and based on autobiographical experiences. I returned to academia in the mid 60’s: enrolling at Kent State University while raising a family. Eight years later I had earned a B.F.A., M.A. and the terminal degree of M.F.A.from Kent State University. From 1978-1998, I was an adjunct professor at The University of Akron in The School of Art.
I was only one of 5 ”women” (in the 85 year history of CMA’s May Show) to win Best in Show at The Cleveland Museum of Art in 1982.
My paintings have been collected by major institutions and corporations in the country including numerous Ohio museums. CMA–Butler Institute of American Art- Case Western Reserve University– Canton Museum of Art–Akron Museum of Art, Massillon Museum of Art. My work resides in the permanent collections of The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Summa Health and University Hospitals.
In 2018 and 2021, My work was exhibited in NYC at The Painting Center.
My gallery affiliation is Bonfoeys Gallery, Cleveland, Ohio and web sites 1 stdibs and Artsy.
Artist Statement
Growing up in Cleveland, the western neighborhood of Old Brooklyn, I had the great fortune to be given a scholarship to attend the Cleveland Institute of Art on Saturday mornings.
As a result, Art became my raison d’etre, my motivation and my passion.
M paintings reflect my vision and my life. I can only paint with intuition and the confidence of an academic background.
I hold a B.F.A.-M.A.-and the terminal degree of M.F.A.
My paintings have evolved over a 50 year period of exhibiting and making art. Currently my work is eclectic shifting from more realistic portraits to abstractions. I like living in both worlds. I am experimental with new materials and types of media which lends a quality of surprise to the work. My titles are not just ”throw aways” but they are both humorous and satirical.
Viewers are encouraged to interpret my art from their own perspectives and I always enjoy hearing from them.
