The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. For more information, contact Kathy Signorino, artist programs director, at email@example.com or 614-728-6140.
Actor, Performance Artist, Director
Nikki is an actor and performance scholar based in Columbus, Ohio. She received her Master of Arts degree in Performance Studies from New York University Tisch School of the Arts and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Richmond. She has appeared in shows such as Poe: The Play (Virginia Clemm Poe) with Original Productions Theatre, Chamber Music (Girl in Gossamer Dress) with Ad Hoc Theatre Company, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Bottom) with Actors’ Theatre of Columbus, The Lieutenant of Inishmore (Mairead) with Warehouse Theatre Company, Two Gentlemen of Verona (Siliva) with Columbus Civic Theatre, and 12 Angry Women (Juror #7) with State of the Art Productions. Nikki is also the creator of “Theatre of the Ghostly Feminine,” a quasi-historical, political performance practice which uses embodied research and devising techniques to grapple with the parts of the past that were excluded from or manipulated by the historical record – the ghostly parts, so to speak, which continue to haunt us because of their lack of recognition or justice. Nikki uses this performance practice to analyze past and ongoing violence against women. Nikki’s seminal work Marie Regina: The Life of Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots had its world premiered at the Abbey Theater of Dublin in Ohio as part of its Virtual Theatre Festival under the direction of Joe Bishara.
