The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio
Natalie Kolos is a Ukrainian-born contemporary artist based in Columbus, Ohio. Her self-directed artistic practice has evolved from watercolor and digital experimentation to acrylic painting.
Working between abstraction and recognizable forms, Kolos explores perception, identity, embodiment, and the changing nature of human experience. Her paintings develop through an intuitive process of layering, balancing deliberate decisions with unexpected visual discoveries.
Her earlier work includes an extensive body of digital studies, which continue to inform her approach to composition, color, and form. She participated in a group exhibition in Kremenchuk, Ukraine, in 2022. Her current practice focuses on painting as a way of exploring the relationship between physical presence, internal experience, and time.
Artist Statement
My work explores perception, identity, and the relationship between the physical and the internal experience. I am interested in how time, memory, and personal experience shape the way we see ourselves and the world around us.
Through abstract and partially recognizable forms, I explore the space between what we see, what we feel, and what remains difficult to define. Familiar shapes may emerge and dissolve, shifting between physical presence and imagined associations.
My painting process is intuitive but involves a continuous balance between spontaneity and deliberate choices. Layers of color, gestures, and textures accumulate, creating forms and relationships that often reveal themselves during the process.
I see each painting as a moment within an ongoing exploration rather than a fixed conclusion. I leave space for ambiguity, allowing viewers to encounter the work through their own memories, perceptions, and experiences.
