The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio
Najmeh Pirahmadian, who goes by Sara (b. 1986, Shiraz, Iran), is an artist, designer, educator, and creative researcher based in Athens, Ohio.
She holds an MFA in Graphic Design from Ohio University and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts Administration (M.A.A.) at Ohio University.
Her interdisciplinary practice brings together interactive media, projection, creative coding, typography, and participatory design to explore communication, language, and cross-cultural understanding. Her recent research, Mis/Understanding, uses motion tracking, real-time voice and text processing, and audience participation to examine how meaning shifts, fragments, and transforms through communication.
Community engagement is an important part of Pirahmadian’s creative practice. She is particularly interested in how art and design can support collaboration, participation, and connection between people and organizations. Her community-engaged work in Southeast Ohio has included collaborations with organizations and initiatives such as the Athens County Food Pantry, Acceleration of the Circular Economy (ACE), and Impact Enterprise, contributing to projects ranging from visual identity and digital communication to participatory and interdisciplinary design experiences.
Her work has been exhibited in the United States, Iran, and Indonesia and presented at academic and international conferences. Her recognitions include 1st Place in Creative Arts & Design at the Ohio University Student Expo in 2025 and 2026, the Creative Arts & Design Original Work Award in 2025, the People’s Choice Award at the Appalachian Literary Arts and Storytelling Festival in 2024, and a Silver Award at the BASTEHA International Biennial in 2022.
Alongside her creative and research practice, Pirahmadian teaches design and continues to develop community-engaged projects that connect art, design, technology, and public participation.
