The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio
Mina is a disabled, queer artist finding new life and a new path in her 40’s! Working her way through several mediums, she finally came upon painting and acrylics as her greatest passion.
Life, disability, and circumstances have brought her here, and now she continues her journey a little bit every day.

Artist Statement
I began my artistic journey as a way to heal after leaving an unhealthy situation and have learned to bring happiness through mixed media artwork and unexpected surprises in what you see. I have learned several mediums from hand painting, to resin work to modeling to achieve an overall feeling of warmth and happiness when you look and what I create. I like bringing the unexpected to my pieces, as well as creating pieces that make my own heart and inner child sing with happiness!
I began in fandom spaces, and found that my artwork would bring together people of all races, ages, genders, and social standing. Everyone is the same sitting around the table to throw the role playing dice, or to play a trading card game. And I hope to expand that into realistic wildlife art, as a way to bring together community for those who cannot advocate for themselves.
When I began working with resin in 2019 I did not realize how the skills I had picked up in hobby crafting over the years would help me. And I have taken that knowledge and expanded out into other art mediums and the ability to mix them. I have learned how to be bad at art. Which sounds strange but I have learned that you have to be bad before you get better, and that it is allowable. I have seen my art grow and expand and me tackle mediums that I have been terrified of for years, such as paint on canvas. And it’s been allowing myself the room to be bad that has allowed me to expand!
