The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio

Mike Zielinskie is an artist working in acrylic and ink, based in Northeast Ohio. His work examines the relationship between human anatomy, emotion, and the external forces that shape our existence, rendering interior states through the body’s parts rather than its face.

He grew up in the Pennsylvania coal region, in and around his grandparents’ art store, Glo-Zel’s, and painted his first public mural alongside his father while still in high school. He holds a BA in Studio Art from Bloomsburg University with a concentration in digital art and fabric design and a minor in anthropology.

He is an active studio artist at Stella’s Art Gallery in Willoughby, Ohio.

Selected exhibitions include Best in Show at Stella’s Art Gallery in 2025, Signature Works at the Willoughby Hills Community Center, and the solo exhibition tOGGLE opening October 2026. Full CV below.

Artist Statement

My art is a relentless confrontation with the tangled realities of existence, the visceral clash between humanity and our ever-evolving world. Each piece is a raw, unapologetic testament to the human condition—boldly dissecting themes of family, survival, and the future. The collaborative efforts seen in works like Color Study I and II are more than just colorful canvases; they are the physical manifestation of unity, experimentation, and the chaotic beauty of collective creation. From the vibrant heart of le cœur lumineux to the street-art inspired une tête pleine, my pieces challenge viewers to face the stark contrasts and blended realities of life.
