The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio

Maria McDonald is an oil painter who works at her studio in Canton, Ohio, and has a BFA from Kent State University. She creates paintings that reflect her view of the world she sees around her and the emotions she feels while navigating life. Grief, connection, love, comfort, and desire are some examples of the feelings she is inspired by. She takes inspiration from small and large motifs in nature. From tall trees to tiny rocks to flowers, she finds repeating patterns and colors to pull from in them. How light interacts with nature is a huge inspiration to her and she mixes light patterns with other natural patterns she finds. She doesn’t confine herself to any one style and creates paintings that range from landscapes to portraits to abstract work.
