The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio

I am a passionate artist and entrepreneur based in Gahanna, Ohio. My interest in art started at an early age, with the Digi Draw and BloPens! From there, I grew to love freehand drawing, photography and most importantly, painting. I enjoyed painting in high school but it wasn’t until I took an oil painting class in college that I really discovered the right medium for me. With a unique blend of artistic talent and analytical mindset, I’ve been able to hone in on my skillset. The first piece, and probably one of my favorite pieces to this day, that allowed me to see my creative potential was of a paper bag on a white wall. That particular project challenged me to see color and move paint in a new way.

Artist Statement

My journey led me from Bowling Green State University, where I earned a Minor in Art and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, to Columbus, OH. I moved to Columbus to support students that were first generation students, like myself, in their college journey. During this time, I maintained my creative outlook on life and continued painting on a personal level. I’ve found painting to be a creative outlet and a way I can still serve others.

While I pursue my creative passion, I am fortunate to have the company of two special companions. Landon, my partner, does such important work as a School Counselor. Not only does he support his students but he provides me with love and motivation as I continue this journey. My feline friend, Lennon, brings joy and comfort to my creative space.

I also draw inspiration from my mother, Sommer, who is a creative at heart and was also a small business owner. Being a local artist in Gahanna and the Columbus area is a dream come true. During my time at BGSU, I learned that I have a soft spot for impressionism. We may be in a big city but this small town girl finds ways to incorporate nature into her pieces. My favorite subjects to paint are landscapes and flowers.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me and my art. I am honored to have the opportunity to share my creative journey with you, and I look forward to creating meaningful connections.
