The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio

Growing up in rural Belmont County, Ohio, I was raised by my father, a coal miner, and my mother, a homemaker. From an early age, I discovered my voice through art, sketching flowers, trees, and people in my childhood doodles. Despite my modest beginnings, my journey led me to a fulfilling academic and professional career. I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Ohio University, followed by a Ph.D. in education with a focus on online teaching and instructional design. Over the course of 40 years, I dedicated myself to the art of teaching and learning, drawing inspiration from the arts as I served as a passionate teacher and educational leader. My unwavering commitment to both education and the arts stemmed from my deep belief in the transformative power of knowledge and the potential within every learner.

Retirement, however, marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter. In 2017, I embarked on a personal artistic journey, allowing me to evolve as a visual artist. Inspired by the works of Van Gogh and Monet, my art reflects a profound appreciation for the beauty of nature and the essence of humanity. I strive to capture the vibrant energy of Van Gogh and the ethereal serenity of Monet, creating pieces that evoke emotion and meaning. Through my paintings, I hope to inspire others to embrace self-discovery, celebrate creativity, and find beauty in the world around them. My studio is located at 700 Bryden.
