The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Artist Statement
Quilts have long been used to mark important moments — and I have chosen to continue that tradition in relevant and personal ways.
I traditionally worked with textiles as a decorative medium, experimenting with techniques with a focus on pattern and color. Over the past few years, however, issues in the world began to feel urgent and I started developing work around those that matter most to me using text, quotes, and data drawn from the political realities surrounding us: gun violence, gerrymandering, the erosion of democratic norms.
My visual language and love of the textile medium remain very much present. A long career in design shapes how I organize and present my message — the color is bold, the layout is deliberate, and a love of typography plays a central role. I rely on those skills to draw people in before the message takes hold. The quilt form itself carries meaning in its associations with domesticity and care, creating a deliberate tension with the realities of the issues I choose to represent.
I am also drawn to quilting because it demands time. Each stitch is a choice to stay with difficult material, and the labor of making bears witness.
My quilts are more than examples of design and craftsmanship — they are records.
