The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio

I am a self-taught collage artist residing in Grove City, Ohio. I graduated from Capital University intending to be a writer but discovered a passion for art. Taking some scrapbook paper I had around the house, I made my first collage in 2006 and haven’t stopped since. I use a variety of new and recycled papers including wrapping paper, magazines, junk mail, scrapbook papers, and even candy wrappers. Basically as long as it’s paper I will find a way to use it in my work.

I am represented by The Bonfoey Gallery out of Cleveland, Ohio and also have my work available for purchase at The Ohio Craft Museum in Grandview, Ohio, where I also serve as their Art Education Coordinator.

Artist Statement

I like people to look at my collages and forget about any problems in their lives or in the world around them and feel joy. Animals are a sense of joy for me and I do incorporate them into my work. I also like to look back and think of people who brought happiness to my world in even small ways and make them subjects in my art. I recycle what I’m able to into my collages. No paper that crosses my path goes to waste. I use scrapbook papers, wrapping paper, wallpaper, books and magazines, even candy wrappers in my art – especially gum wrappers of which I am quite fond!
