The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio

Graduated from the Ohio state University in 1980 and 81 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Arts Education degree. I also worked on a Masters of Fine Arts degree at OSU but did not complete the program. Instead I pursued an entrepreneurial effort in the area of adult continuing education. This effort took me to Chicago where I managed the Discovery Center and Roosevelt University’s Computer Learning Centers. I then pursued a career in information technology where I worked for several different companies including CompuServ, Worldcom and Nationwide Insurance. I retired in 2017.

Artist Statement

There is a strong undercurrent of social and political critique in my imagery. Whether I am addressing environmental damage, wealth inequality, governmental absurdity, or personal suffering under institutional pressures, each work interrogates structures of power and the resulting human response—be it resistance, despair, satire, or protest. My integration of symbolic props—flowers as acts of peace, stacks of cash representing greed, and exaggerated features to satirize authority—creates a narrative thread tying the individual images together, even as each artwork tackles distinct situations.
