Bio
James is a professional engineer and artist, living and working in the Columbus area. Painting is his passion.
Artist Statement
James is an engineer and an artist. My paintings combine these two aspects of my personality: precision and expression. My style is a distinct play between positive and negative space, and the results are vivid, abstract paintings.
The engineer influences my painting through technical precision and knowledge of geometry. I strive for perfection when I put brush to canvas. I do not fear a clean, polished product. As an artist, I choose and apply my colors spontaneously. This is a free expression of the moment.
My goal, simply, is to create highly aesthetic work.
