The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Artist Statement

I have produced the artworks based on the theme of Vanitas since 2014. This body of work is my attempt to marry the Vanitas art and my passion for figure drawing, and to express my interpretation of the theme using symbolism as a common language.

I have always been intrigued by the mystery of our physical and spiritual existence. And I witnessed this mystery sometimes reveal itself to me in the form of extraordinary beauty that was perpetually fleeting. I feel we can have the more heightened perception of our ephemeral being and the greater appreciation of beauty when we are made aware of the brevity and fragility of what we find beautiful.
