The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Artist Statement

Ellen’s love of animals especially cows is evident when you look at her work.  Working with both oil paints and Acrylics.  Her larger works are mostly done in oils.  Acrylics are done on smaller commission pieces, but not always.   Recently Ellen began adding floral arrangements to the heads of her cows, to add a sense of honor to what they do for us humans.   Adding texture with both brushes and pallet knives combines both detail and a sense of flow and looseness to each piece.  There is always a story with each painting and usually a sense of happiness when looking at a finished piece.
