The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Eileen O’Connor
Owner Eileen OConnor Fine ArtBio
Eileen paints outdoors mostly in three seasons. At times in winter too she will venture out into the snow to paint. More often though when the weather becomes less cooperative, she brings her plein air studies into the studio as reference to create larger oil paintings.
Her training dates to 2000 and includes mentorships with master painters Kami Mendlik and Scott Christensen.
Please follow Eileen on social media or visit her website and sign up for her newsletter (see links). And if you see her out painting at the roadside, be sure to say hello!
Thank you!
Artist Statement
In 2000, as I prepared to sell my parents’ home, I found my kindergarten report card in the attic. My teacher’s comment, “Eileen loves art,” triggered memories of my favorite activity, finger painting. I vividly recall the sensory experience of the colors, the texture and even the smell of the paint. And most of all I recall my joy when my Mom hung my paintings on the kitchen wall. There was no greater compliment!
Shortly after I rediscovered this childhood passion, I bought my first set of paints and started down this long winding road of learning to convey with paint the beauty I see all around me — and I’ve been painting ever since!
I hope you enjoy my work. And don’t hesitate to reach out if you would like to hang one of my paintings on your wall 🙂
Why I Paint
I paint in order to convey the beauty of nature through landscape painting, taking note of even the smallest beauties, like the rhythm of water lapping the shore or the dance of glistening leaves in the breeze of a sunny summer day. My hope is that when people see my paintings, they are drawn into a place where all stress melts away and they can focus wholly for a moment on seeking out and appreciating the beauty that surrounds us.
