The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio

After retiring from The Ohio State University, Ed took up drawing and painting as a hobby. Having no formal training, Ed has become a self-taught artist, and continues to develop his art style. Having developed a passion for the shoreline growing up on Long Island, NY, he has found a way to convey his love of the coast through his art work. Ed has also created cityscapes, landscapes and portraits.

Artist Statement

Coastal artworks have been influenced by his many experiences while visiting the North Carolina Crystal Coast. The Crystal Coast, also called The Southern Outer Banks includes the Rachael Carlson Nature Reserve, Shackleford Banks, where wild horses continue to roam free, and Bogue Banks, a barrier island, with many beach communities and panoramic views. Although his focus is primarily the shoreline, Ed also enjoys creating cityscapes, landscapes and portraits. Cityscape artworks reflect his experiences in and around the New York City area. The mediums he has used are graphite, colored pencil, pastel, watercolor and acrylic.
