The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Artist Statement

When people ask what I do for a living, I simply answer, ‘I am an artist.’ It is what gets me out of bed each morning—it is in my blood. I create something every day because it brings me joy, and I hope that joy carries over to those who experience my work. Whether I am painting on wood or canvas, sketching with pencil, or reaching for my camera, art is a constant presence in my life.

My passion for art began early. At ten years old, I was drawing illustrations inspired by Mad Magazine and rock-and-roll posters from the 1960s. Even then, my family knew this would be my path.

I studied at the Dayton Art Institute and graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Fine Arts. Over the years, I built a career as a commercial artist, painting murals for businesses and private residences both locally and nationally.

Now retired from commercial work, I continue to find my voice through personal artwork within my community. I see art in everything and feel called to share that vision. I am drawn to subjects with history and character—old barns, weathered buildings, vintage cars, and expressive faces. I find comfort in what is aged and storied. Through my use of color, I strive to breathe new life into what might otherwise be overlooked.

As my journey continues, I embrace each opportunity to grow, create, and discover more fully my place as an artist. Art has always been my path—and it remains so today.
