The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Denny Mozena

Bio

Denny has been hammering steel since he was a child.  He worked at the Roscoe Village blacksmith shop as a teen as well as developed a national iron garden accessory line for a local pottery.  A few years later he started his own wrought iron company with his wife, Valerie.  During that era, he fabricated wrought iron railings, driveway gates and fencing, freelance work for companies like Longaberger, and had a wholesale iron garden accessory line.  After their 3rd child was born, he went to work for Conesville Power Plant until it’s closing and currently at Cardinal Power Plant in Brilliant, Ohio.

Now as a side hustle and sometimes pure enjoyment, Denny continues to fabricate beautiful hand forged metal iron pieces.  Working at the forge and anvil bending hot pieces of metal is his favorite place to be.  Denny’s custom work has included President Buchanan’s memorial in Pennsylvania, archway at General Sherman’s house in Lancaster, Ohio, wine table for Charles Schultz and plant stakes in Martha Stewart’s gardens in New York.

Today, Denny enjoys doing metal artwork that ranges from horseshoe metal creations, scrap metal sculptures, and intricate hand forged one of a kind items.

He has been a lifelong resident of Muskingum County, Ohio.  He has been a 4-H advisor for over 30 years and also is a member of the Muskingum County Senior Fair Board.  He enjoys homesteading with his wife and 3 children Samantha, Tom, and Logan.
