The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Ceré Bellow is a Columbus multimedia artist based in the Blacklick area. She works out of her home studio. She was born in 1988 in San Diego, California. She and her mother moved to Columbus in 1997 and have lived here ever since. She spent four years studying the arts and graduated from Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center in 2006. She took part in the Wexner Center for the Arts, Art & Ecology program under Shelly Casto during her senior year 2005-2006. She took part in art shows at the Wexner Center of the Arts and the Shot Tower Gallery in the Spring of 2006. She majored in Art History at Ohio State University. In 2023 and 2024, Ceré was awarded the Funds for Artist Grant from the Greater Columbus Art Council. In February of 2024 she was a recipient of the Ohio Art Council grant for Artist with Disabilities.
She has experienced personal and medical traumas and the last 3 years have been especially traumatic. She has been focusing on healing her mental health and has rediscovered making art as therapy. Her art tells the story of an African American woman growing up in the USA with mixed ancestry, healing from her trauma, and dealing with the history and folklore of her people. Her artwork is inspired by her life, family history, and education, the artwork of Louise Nevelson, Aminah Robinson, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Frida Kahlo. The writing of Mya Angelou and Zora Neale Hurston and the music of Nina Simone.
She is a mixed-media artist and is always expanding her skills. She currently works with canvas, paint, paper, fabric, found objects, vinyl, and clay. Her goal as an artist is to create larger projects that include more textures and materials. She is interested in learning more about ceramics, glass, and metalwork. Her career goals include showing and selling at local art shows, festivals, and galleries. She wants her art to reach a larger audience and continue telling her story as an African American and a survivor.
