The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio

Camara “Cam” Goodrich, is the founder and owner of, CAM CREATES ART STUDIO, located in North Ridgeville, Ohio.
 
Camara “Cam” Goodrich is a multidisciplinary visual artist, author, and educator whose work lives at the intersection of humanity, environment, and emotional truth. Known for her vibrant, textured, and symbol-rich style, Cam creates immersive pieces that invite viewers to confront both personal and collective narratives. Her work often explores themes of unity, identity, global consciousness, and the relationship between people and the planet.

Cam’s practice spans painting, mixed media, large-scale murals, and live performance art, including her signature action-based approaches that merge movement, storytelling, and visual creation. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums across the United States, with pieces held in both private and corporate collections, including the National Bank of Canada.

Beyond the studio, Cam is deeply committed to community engagement. She teaches workshops in museums, libraries, youth programs, and nontraditional spaces, creating access to art as a tool for expression, healing, and empowerment. She also mentors emerging artists, many of whom have gone on to build professional creative careers.

Her work is currently on view at The Butler Institute of American Art. She is the author of Art for Success: Mastering the Art World and the founder of Cam Creates Art Studio. Through every brushstroke and experience she designs, Cam continues to build a practice rooted in connection, purpose, and impact.

Artist Statement

Camara “Cam” Goodrich

My work explores the complicated interconnected relationship between humanity, nature, and shared global identity. Through paintings, murals, and mixed-media experimentation, I combine expressive color, layered textures, and symbolic imagery to feel the emotional and environmental forces that shape human experience.

A central theme throughout my practice is the belief that humanity shares a deeper connection than the divisions often emphasized in society. This philosophy is reflected in my ongoing body of work, Human: Only One Race, a series that reveals the unity, environmental responsibility, and fragile relationship between people and the Earth. By merging figurative elements with expressive abstraction and organic textures, my work invites viewers to reflect on their place within both the human community and the natural world.

My artistic practice exists by combining studio work, public art, and community engagement. In addition to exhibiting in galleries and museums, I create large-scale murals and lead art programs throughout Ohio in museums, libraries, youth organizations, community spaces, and personal practice.

These experiences have shaped my belief that art should not only be observed but experienced as a shared creative process that brings people together and encourages deeper awareness of the environments we inhabit.
