The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

2024 Ohio Artist Registry Juried Exhibition

Brittany Gausel

Bio

I am a self-taught artist from Fairborn, Ohio. Since 2018 I have been creating 3D miniature dioramas and buildings out of recycled cardboard and found objects. My inspiration comes from the historical and abandoned buildings that are located throughout Ohio. In July of 2023 my recreation of the Hope School House (located in Zaleski State Forest) was accepted into the 2023 Juried Art Exhibit at the Miamisburg Art Gallery in Miamisburg, Ohio.

Artist Statement

I use cardboard as my medium to inspire others that do not have the money to afford traditional art supplies. The objects that we use in our day to day lives can be reimagined into a new purpose or new creation. My goal is to encourage other people to experiment with new mediums, different techniques and styles. I have always believed that being an artist gives you the opportunity to wake up each day and try something new.
