The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio

During Beth’s career as a graphic designer, she passionately pursued her fine art, infusing each creation with thoughtfulness and sharing them with the community whenever her demanding job allowed. Once freed from the constraints of client-driven art, Beth embraced abstraction. For her, creating art became an emotional journey—transforming the ordinary world into evocative shapes, radiant colors, and rich textures that stir the soul. Instead of simply depicting what is seen, her work seeks to awaken what is deeply felt. This heartfelt pursuit, driven by a longing to connect on a profound level, guided Beth into her abstract art practice.

Artist Statement

Every morning, I head to the park with my dog and discover abstract shapes in nature. As the seasons change, I notice different patterns—sometimes frozen ground with cracks and water flows creating interesting forms, other times tar repairs on asphalt creating unique line work I later use in paintings. While the natural world sparks my ideas, inspiration also comes from other sources. In addition to my outdoor observations, deep, meaningful conversations with friends, research into subjects that interest me, and discovering new places right in my backyard, all contribute to my creative process. My abstract paintings are primarily acrylic. I create texture with materials like pastel crayons or acrylic mediums and incorporate collage elements, like paper or fabric, when I feel inspired.
