The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

BARBARA ERY
Visual Artist Appalachia PaperBio
Barbara Ery is a visual artist an educator, hand papermaker and non profit administrator. She was Executive Director at Paper Circle for eight years and there learned from master papermaker Sara Gilfert the art and craft of hand papermaking. Her paintings are called snapshots and are based on family photos. Born in Clifton Forge, Va. her roots are in Appalachian. She received a BFA in Photography from Ohio University, and later received a Masters of Art Education from University of Central Florida. Her photo transfers are tilted a Sense of Place and focus on collective memories. She had her first solo show at the Orange County Regional History Center, and has exhibited in numerous group shows. Having moved every year in high school she can relate to the outsider. She understands people who need more time to process, share, participate and connect. She worked with Art is Possible for over six years, as a teaching artist. She shares her talent working with a large diverse group of people. See more of her work at the Sharon Weiss Gallery, 20 E. Barbara “Scout” Ery is a Appalachia visual artist and educator. She received a BFA in Photography from Ohio University, and a Masters of Art Education from University of Central Florida. Her work is showed at the Sharon Weiss Gallery in Columbus, Ohio. She created her own art and papermaking stuido, Appalachia Paper. She resides in Athens, Ohio and has embraced the beauty of living, creating and thriving in Appalachia.
