The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio
I’ve spent around a decade in UX/UI design working on applications people use every day for their work. Working in software can be technical and pixel-perfect precision, but also focused on the human experience and empathy. My love of design and art is what propelled me into my design career, and has been a motivating factor throughout my life in exploring other mediums like printmaking, sculpture, and sewing.
My textile work includes a range of formats from hanging quilts to canvas mounted works. I teach quilting classes as well as private lessons at Sew to Speak in Worthington, and am also a member of the Clintonville Arts Guild.
Artist Statement
My work is inspired by time spent in nature and the details and patterns that come from it. Capturing and recalling those scenes from forests and gardens into the new shapes and compositions. Those compositions sometimes reflect a more direct impression of the scene, or an abstract memory of the time spent and the feelings being there. Each shape comes together in how they connect to one another, and the small gaps and spaces that are created in-between.
The process of improv piecing and hand appliqué is slow and intentional. Cutting, placing, and stitching each piece of fabric is meditative as each piece is carefully considered. From those individual pieces into the collective whole, my work communicates the calmness and ease from that meditative process, and the mindfulness that comes from observing the world around us to inspire each shape.
