The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Ali Gemmer
ArtistBio
Ali Gemmer is an emerging artist based in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. As a self-taught creator, she embraces experimentation, working primarily in white charcoal and chalk pastel on black paper. She challenges the notion that drawing is merely a preparatory medium, treating it as a final, fully realized form of expression. Gemmer’s work navigates a balance between realism and abstraction, drawing inspiration from philosophy, compelling visuals, energy, and raw aspects of the human condition. Some pieces carry a deep, heavy presence while others feel lighter, reflecting the complexity of life and existence. Through layers of detail, contrast, and texture, she hopes to create a space for reflection beyond what’s intended behind the work.
