Self Portrait
Portrait of the artist, Cecilia Brendel. The meaning is much to honor all those who have helped me with my art career. The small brown image on the canvas is to honor Alexei Antonov for teaching me much about the flemish method in oil painting. The small portrait of the top right represents an hour to Cesar Santos for teaching me about portrait painting. The dots of color under that is to honor Douglas Flynt for helping me much with color theory, the little landscape is to honor all the plain air masters who taught me landscape painting, the brushes are to honor rosary Brushes from England to thank them for making the Cecilia Brendel brush set for me, the rose on top of the easel is to honor MaryBeth Karas for helping me to paint flowers, the pallet I am honing is to honor my husband for making them for me and help making my easels. The cross on top of the easel to honor our Lord Jesus Christ for all He does to inspire me and to paint for me. My cats Tiki and Angelo are my best friends who are always there for me to make me smile, my grandparent’s mirror to honor them who have prayed for me.
