Tikdi window
The stitching of the Tikdi window is about the intimacy of the self. Constructed with rope and thread…it is a reminder of the jharokha — a stone window overlooking a street, a distinctive feature of the architecture of the Indian subcontinent of medieval India, that was one of the few ways Indian women accessed public life within the confines of the purdah system.
